Dr. Christopher Tang, is a renowned figure in the field of vaccine development. With his team, they pioneered the creation of DNA vaccines, noninvasive nasal and skin-patch vaccines, as well as innate-adaptive immunity duo vaccines. They also developed in vivo cytotoxicity assays, among other groundbreaking contributions. Dr. Tang earned his PhD from Indiana University and started his career as an assistant instructor/instructor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He then moved on to become an assistant/associate professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). In 1997, he established Vaxin Inc. on the UAB campus, which is now known as Altimmune, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALT). Continuing his success, Dr. Tang also founded Vaxdome Inc. on the University of North Texas Health Science Center campus in 2019. His expertise and dedication have propelled him to the forefront of vaccine research and development.

Founder Chief Executive Officer

Dr. James Wheeler is a global drug development executive with more than 20 years of experience leading cross-functional teams to bring innovative medicines from concept to global launch. His career spans ophthalmology, rare renal, and hematology, where he has guided programs from early clinical development through pivotal trials, regulatory submissions, and worldwide commercialization. He has held director and executive-level positions at Alcon, Novartis and 4DMT guiding the progress of a wide variety of drug development assets.

Patent Attorney

G. Michael Alder became a member of the Vaxdome board of directors in January 2024. With an impressive and remarkable career as an entrepreneurial innovator, Alder has made significant contributions to the field. From 2006 to 2023, he held the position of Director in the Office of Technology Transfer at Brigham Young University. Additionally, he has played a pivotal role in the establishment of Vaxin Inc., along with the founder and CEO of Vaxdome, Dr. Tang. Together, they co-founded Vaxin Inc. on the UAB campus in 1997. Alder served as the first CEO of Vaxin from 1997 to 1999, helping to shape its early success.

Edwin S. Flores, a highly qualified patent attorney with both a PhD and JD, is an integral part of the esteemed law firm Chalker Flores, LLP, based in Dallas, Texas. With his extensive educational background and expertise in patent law, Flores offers valuable legal counsel and representation to clients seeking protection for their inventions and intellectual property. His dual degrees in immunology and law provide him with a unique advantage in understanding the technical aspects of inventions and effectively navigating the complex patent application process. Flores's dedication to his clients and commitment to excellence have earned him a reputation as a trusted and skilled patent attorney in the Dallas area.

Scientific Advisory Board

Fang Li, PhD RAC became a scientific Advisor in July 2026. Dr Li is an experienced regulatory affairs professional with over 30 years in pharmaceutical development and over 20 years in regulatory affairs. Fang has submitted numerous BLA, NDAs and INDs to FDA and gained multiple approvals. Her experience encompasses CMC, clinical development, labeling, advertising and promotion including vaccine development across all major regulatory jurisdictions. Dr Li has been certified in regulatory affairs (RAC) since 2005.
